Wood carving can be tricky, but common mistakes can be avoided. From my perspective, using dull tools, ignoring wood grain direction, and rushing are big no-nos. Always use sharp tools, follow the grain, and take your time. Oh, and softer woods like basswood are great for beginners! Happy carving!!!
