No matter if you're starting wood carving or have done it before, good tools are necessary! Don't waste your money on cheap tools. There are many tools available. Do not buy them just because they look affordable. Carving is supposed to be relaxing and not hard work. Kick off your wood carving with quality tools.

You got your tools and they are yours. But that doesn't mean you should be scared of them or misuse them. They will last longer if you take good care of them, so here is some advice on how to do this:
– If you're a beginner who has never tried carving before, the first step is to learn everything you can about your hand tools and how they work before using them! If something feels off, watch the woodcarving video lessons at my school of wood carving on tools and sharpening over and over until you get it. This is especially important for sharpening your gouges and chip carving knife — you could harm the blade or ruin its edge by using anything other than a proper sharpening stone or machine. I talk about sharpening a lot in my video workshops.
