What are the best woodcarving tools to get?
No matter if you're starting wood carving or have done it before, good tools are necessary! Don't waste your money on cheap tools. There are plenty of carving tools for sale. Don't purchase them merely because they are inexpensive. Wood carving is a relaxing hobby and shouldn't be hard. Kick off your wood carving with quality tools.

Your tools are yours since you bought them. But don't be afraid of them or handle them badly. They will last longer if you look after them, so here's some advice on how to do that:
– If you're just starting out and have never carved before, the first thing you should do is learn as much as possible about your hand tools and how they work before using them! If something seems wrong, watch the woodcarving video lessons at my school of wood carving on tools and sharpening repeatedly until you understand. This is crucial for sharpening your gouges and chip carving knife — you could hurt the blade or mess up its edge by using anything other than a proper sharpening stone or machine. When you feel unsafe, make sure to wear safety gloves when handling woodworking tools!
